Waya
You can find a postcard picture environment on your Fiji island vacation equally split with great beaches with lagoons and rocky cliffs and hiking trails. You can find around four villages here and resorts that vary in price depending on you taste. One particularly good hike is up to the top of Yalobi hills where you can feast you eyes on the whole Yasawa Islands. You can make this hike with a guide or go it alone just be sure to bring plenty of water and be hesitant of heading out after it has rained as the trek can be very slippery.
Naviti
Naviti is about midway from the Yasawa islands and is the highest of the group. The main selling point here is great snorkeling. Head towards Manta Ray Island and as the name implies you can get your chance to swim with manta rays. You can find great white sand beaches around Korovou, Coconut Bay, and White Sandy but you can only head out for a swim when it is high tide because low tide exposes a lot of dead coral. But fear not after about a 10 – 15 minute walk you will be by a pretty beach where you can take a dip. Be sure and make a donation to the village by this cove, a small investment to enjoy great snorkeling and spectacular swimming.
Travewa
This small island is located right in the middle of the Yasawa islands. It has a pleasant beach but you can also experience some pretty heavy winds. Head toward the west part of the island around Savutu Point at low tide to get some relief from the trade winds. Here the snorkeling is excellent and if you hike to the mountain top you will catch the sunset of a lifetime on Fiji islands vacations. Most of the resorts offer regular excursions to Blue Lagoon and Sawa-i-Lau caves and you can easily get into a volley ball game and nightly music.
Part 2
Nanuya Lailai
Here lies the hotshot of the Yasawa Islands dubbed the Blue Lagoon. Crystal clear and glossy water right out of a postcard and will not disappoint swimmers, snorkelers or divers. Be sure to stay away from the sections that are restricted for Blue Lagoon cruises. Inland on the island you can find gentle hills and mangroves..
Nacula
Nacula is the third largest island in the Yasawa Islands. Expect hilly volcanic terrain, swift peaks and land well laced for trekking to the villages or small coves. You will find four villages here and one is home to the high cheif. If you plan on island hopping to Nacula try to make it on a Sunday to catch a church service in one of the villages while on your Fiji islands vacation. While you're here you will find some of the best swimming and snorkeling in Fiji.
Nanuya Levu aka Turtle Island
Here is a privately owned island with protected beaches and several volcano cliffs. This is where the 1980 hit movie The Blue Lagoon staring Brook Shields was partially filmed. Nanuya is home to one of the most famous resorts Turtle Island and is a popular destination for celebrities. Rates include everything you would want but expect to drop around $12,000 US - $17,000 plus airfare and your not allowed to bring the kids along unless it’s July or durning the Christmas holidays.
Sawa-I-Lau
Sawa-O-Lau is dubbed the limestone island and a great place to look for Fiji islands vacations. If your brave enough you can take a tour through an underwater passage into an adjoining chamber and observe the carvings, paintings, and inscriptions of unknown meaning.
