Diving in Nadi is incredible and most of the dive centers come with an excellent reputation along with good gear, safety and instructions. Nadi has several hiking possibilities including trekking tours around the Koroyanitu National Heritage Park and in the Nausori Highlands.
If you want to try your hand at whitewater you have some rafting options in Nadi and several operators at your fingertips. Cyclists can explore the island by bike with rentals typically starting around $25 per day from a Fiji Resort and includes a map of the best places to stop by that are within biking distance.
There are two magnificent golf courses located in Nadi being Denarau that boasts a 18 hole course and the course at Nadi airport golf club. For those that need a bit of an adrenalin rush take a jet boat trip. This roaring, hair raising trip tears through the Nadi river mangroves and the ride leaves from Denarau Marina.
While you are in Nadi be sure and head offshore and dabble in some dreamy beaches and don’t forget that the Mamanuca islands are close enough for a short day trip. Another way to get around is to charter a scenic flight. It takes roughly about 10 minutes to fly from Nadi to the Mamanucas and the blue green depth of the ocean is a magnificent sight when seen from above. Quick fun flights over the Nausori Highlands are another great way to spend a day going from different Fiji resorts.
Around Nadi: Denarau Island
Denarau is developing nearly at the speed of light. Here you can find fancy resorts and everything you’ll see is manicured to perfection. Denarau is about 4 miles west of Nadi and is the perfect place to splash some cash, sit back and enjoy the pampering.
Expect the beaches around the Fiji island resorts to have dark grey sand and you will find some great infinity pools and some white sand beaches just offshore at the private island for the day trippers. For entertainment you can find a ton of bars at the Sheraton hotel.
You will also find Planters Lounge where you can sit back with a cocktail and enjoy authentic Fijian music nightly. On Wednesday you’ll get to catch some fire walking and a meke is held every Saturday night at the Fiji resort.
