That's right it does take guts to dive in Fiji At most diving sites you’re lucky if you spot large underwater life, but here up to eight species of sharks are likely to turn up. Everything from grey reef sharks and sickle-fin lemon sharks to the headlining bull sharks. Hand feeding these creatures might seem like a suicide excursion but the feeders have gotten these star performers very tame and they are used to the attention. Let’s get real, this is more of a show then Fiji diving and fish feeding is a controversial subject. If you chicken out at diving shark reef in Viti Levu Fiji you always have Caesar’s Rock which has a lot of tunnels and caves for a good surf dive Fiji. Also head towards carpet cove (aka seven sisters) where you can spot a ship wrecked Japanese trawler.
Fiji Diving In Mamanuca Islands
These Fiji dive sites are scattered along the Malolo barrier reef. Fiji diving here is not quite as spectacular as other sites but still very rewarding with good marine life, great visibility and is very forgiving for novice divers.
A good place to go diving in Fiji is called the supermarket where you can occasional spot sharks.
Also if you are wanting to see some big fish when diving in Fiji check out The Big Ws and Bird Rock. If you’re a bit of a ship wreck buff don’t miss Salamanda. A 120 foot long ship was sunk here as an artificial reef. She is moderately overtaken with a diversity of soft glowing corals. There is also a good bit of fish hanging around giving you the opportunity to snap some great pictures of you Fiji diving vacation.
